Gene Information

Encodes inhibitor-3 (Inh3), a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1). Inh3 inhibits the phosphatase activity of the PP1 catalytic subunit (PP1c). Biochemical analyses demonstrate that Inh3 binds to PP1c via the RVxF motif of Inh3, a consensus PP1c-binding sequence both in vitro and in vivo.
